Patrick Betts

Patrick was born and raised in Baton Rouge, and he built his practice representing the people and businesses of the community he calls home. He joined Alexander Sides after several years at Kean Miller LLP, where he handled matters across intellectual property, commercial litigation, construction, engineering and procurement, consumer credit litigation, premises liability, products liability, land use and property rights, landlord/tenant disputes, labor and employment, medical malpractice defense, and casualty and mass tort litigation. That variety taught him how a legal problem actually affects the person on the other end of it, and it still shapes how he practices. Today his work as a Baton Rouge litigation attorney centers on complex commercial disputes, including contract and business tort claims, shareholder and partnership disputes, and high-stakes commercial matters. He likes the detail of it, the kind of cases that reward patience and close attention to how the pieces fit together.

Patrick treats his clients’ problems as his own. Whether he is working with a family business, a regional company, or a national organization navigating the Louisiana legal system for the first time, he makes sure people understand where they stand and what happens next. 

Patrick was recognized as a 2026 Louisiana Super Lawyers Rising Star, and he stays active in the Baton Rouge legal community and with fellow LSU Law alumni. Patrick also gives back beyond his practice, serving as an active board member of the Swollfest Fishing Rodeo, a volunteer-run charitable fishing tournament that supports Baton Rouge community causes, and of Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge, which provides critical home repairs for elderly, veteran, and low-income homeowners. He is proud to practice law in the city that raised him.
